Answering His Call to Advance the Gospel and Unite the Body of Christ.

The Upstate Minister

Rev. Michael Mooney serves in full time ministry as president of the National Association of Christian Ministers. Over the years he observed a great need in Greenville for a minister who specializes in weddings for Christians who have been through divorces.  Because of his passion for uniting blended families, locals call him the "Upstate Minister" when they need a Christian wedding officiant.

Rev. Mooney understands that Brides and Grooms often come to their weddings with children from previous marriages, different family traditions, wedding expectations, and church backgrounds.  For these reasons, he is known for showing grace and sensitivity to denominational differences and interpretations of the Bible as they pertain to marriage (between husbands and wives).

He also believes that your wedding day is one of the most important moments in your life before God, family, and friends.  A day so important should never become a circus because of poor planning, lack of sincerity, or professionalism. Therefore, he holds the following convictions:

  • Marriage was designed by God. Therefore, it is holy, sacred, and pleasing to the Lord.

  • God's purpose for marriage is to provide a partnership of love, sexuality, safety, faithfulness, and family between a man and a woman.

  • Weddings should be a time of joy and celebration. Peace from God should surround the service.

  • The minister should be fully prepared, on time, and tuned -in to the order of the service, as well as the needs of the Bride and Groom.

If you are like the many others who share these Christian values, and wish to include them in your wedding, the next step is to contact Rev. Mooney.  Use the below "check availability" button to share your plans and schedule your date.
